How To Change Windows 7 Logon Screen Easily

Finally Microsoft has incorporated a new feature in the latest version of Windows which allows the end user to change the logon screen background without having to use any hacks or third-party tools.

In previous version of Windows, user had no option but to use third-parry tools like Tune-Up-Utilities to change the logon screen background. But in Windows 7, the case is different. Windows 7 now supports customization of Windows 7 logon screen officially. Replacing the old logon screen is as easy as changing desktop wallpaper (desktop background). Thanks to withinwindows for finding out this excellent feature.


Follow the given procedure below to change the Windows 7 logon screen:

Step 1: Download the registry file from here. Extract the file and double-click on the file to enable this feature (Alternative method: right-click, select Merge).

Step 2: Now, head over to the following folder:

C:\Windows\System32\oobe (“C” is your Windows Seven Installation drive)

Step 3: Here, create a new folder named Info. Again, create a new folder inside the Info folder and rename it as backgrounds.

Step 4: Copy your favorite image file to this folder and rename it as backgroundDefault. Note that the image must be in JPG format and the size should be less than 256 KB.

Step 5: You are done. Reboot your system and see the change.

How to enable or disable Windows Search in Windows 7 / 8

If you find that the search box is missing in the start menu and / or the Windows explorer, then here is what you need to do. By following this tutorial, you will be able to enable or disable Windows Search in Windows 8, Windows 7 or Windows Vista.

Open Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features on or off.


Check ‘Windows Search’ to get it back. To disable Windows Search, uncheck the option. Click OK and for for Windows to configure the settings.

You will have to restart your computer.

Using Windows Registry

Alternatively or additionally, you may also have to check if this registry key exists. Open Registry Editor and navigate to the following registry key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

If a value called NoFind exists in the right pane, delete it. A value 1 would mean that search and the following features have been disabled:

  •     The Search item is removed from the Start menu and from the right click context menu.
  •     The system does not respond when users press F3 or Win+F
  •     The search item does not appear in the drive or folder right click context menu.
  •     The search item may appear on the Standard Buttons toolbar, but Windows will not respond when you press CTRL+F.

If the key does not exist or has a value 0 then it is the default state; ie Search is enabled.
Exit regedit.

It is always a good idea to back up the registry or create a system restore point first before touching the windows registry!

Using Group Policy Editor

You can also open Group Policy Editor and navigate to:
    User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu & Taskbar > Remove Search link from Start Menu

Ensure that Remove Search link from Start Menu is Disabled or Not Configured.

This should help!

If you turn off Windows Search the following things could happen:
  1.     All the search boxes in Windows will disappear
  2.     Programs that rely on Windows Search, including Internet Explorer, will not function properly.
  3.     Tablet PC handwriting recognition won’t work.
  4.     Windows Media Center won’t have enhanced search capability.
  5.     You’ll no longer be able to arrange your library views by metadata, and your column headers will only sort items, not stack or group them.
  6.     Options that affect Windows Search functionality will be removed, including indexing in Control Panel and the Search tab in Folder Options.
  7.     Windows will no longer recognize these search-based file types like search-ms, searchconnector-ms and osdx.

4. Evernote: saves all of your notes, web clips, files, scanned documents, and images. You can search for the documents by keyword, access them from any device, and share them with friends. The storage process here is a little different: free users can store up to 100,000 notes (up to 25 mb each), 250 synchronized notebooks, 10,000 tags, and 100 saved searches.

5. Google Drive: syncs documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and videos from your computer and mobile devices. It connects to Google+ and Gmail for collaboration and sharing. It has a free storage limit of up to 5 GB that’s shared between Google Drive and Google+ Photos.

6. iCloud: is just for iOS devices, but it syncs all your music, photos, apps, calendars, documents, and other files and makes them sharable with friends. It comes with 5 GB of free cloud storage. Bonus: the photos in your Photo Stream and whatever music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books you buy from iTunes don’t count against your storage limit.

7. Mega: Internet outlaw Kim Dotcom released this service one year after the U.S. government shut down its predecessor, MegaUpload, for facilitating copyright infringement. The new tool promises “state of the art, browser-based encryption technology” and a whopping 50 GB of free cloud storage.

8. SkyDrive: offers 7 GB of free cloud storage for photos, documents, and other files and works on any device. Windows 8 users can log in with their Microsoft accounts to view photos and files, edit and share Office documents, and share the files with friends.

If you still need extra storage space, these companies will be more than happy to sell it to you. But unless you’re the Library of Congress, this should be enough to get you started.

There are two major reasons what makes junk food bad for your health.

First is mentioned above that they suffer nutrients loss because of refining process and wipes out much of the phyto nutrient, vitamin, mineral and fiber content.  It basically happens occurs by stripping away nutritious parts, sometimes exposure to air or excessive heating.

Second, junk food contains assault of over 4000 artificial additives which are added and that are ranging from artificial sweeteners, colors and preservatives to chemically distorted fake fats.  Some additives are also used which are poorly tested and contain unexpected effects. Apart from the additives, either from pollution or from unhealthy farming some toxin can get into the food and harm your body badly. Hence, Junk food can surely become a catalyst in Fast Weight & Muscle Gain (But this not necessarily be healthy all the times)

On the whole, healthy foods are rich in nutrients intact, and contain minimum of toxins.  A healthy diet which is full of minerals, vitamins and iron is the best diet and provides you the power to defend against the illness of your body. It has seen people who consume junk food falls sick often as this food eventually harm you liver. So the best fora the good and healthy life is balanced food.
